Council of Scientific & Industrial Research
(CSIR), Government of India, promotes its research, technology and knowledge
creation throughout its 40 research laboratories. CSIR supports its scientists
to take technologies developed to the users, by establishing their own
companies. INDOMER has been authorized by CSIR to promote the technology
generated at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, India.
Dr. P. Chandramohan, the founder Director of the company has served 25
years in NIO, CSIR, as Assistant Director and Head, Ocean Engineering
Division. He has successfully completed over 70 ocean engineering projects
and published more than 60 research papers in NIO.
Since its inception in April 1998, INDOMER has effectively replaced foreign
expertise in various governmental and private sector projects. It has
carried out more than 222 oceanographical projects during the last nine
years. The vision of INDOMER is to ‘Impart the Ocean Science to
User Community in an efficient manner by preserving the ecosystem of the
Water Planet’.
INDOMER has developed unique expertise in carrying out computer model
studies on waves, currents and tides related to harbour developments,
mixing of waste discharges and siltation.
Indomer has been certified as approved consultant for Fishing harbour
development by Ministry of Agriculture, Delhi and A-grade Hydrographic
Surveyors by Inland Waterways Authority of India, Noida.
INDOMER also takes up oceanographic services in Qatar and other Gulf region under 'MTC Coastal Hydraulics' a JVC with Mustafawi Trading & Engineering Company W.L.L, Qatar (www.mustafawiqatar.com).
The goal of INDOMER is to promote the expertise and technology in the
field of Ocean Engineering.
